Recipe
ingredients:

  • 50 garlic cloves or 5 bulbs, peeled
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 6 cups clear chicken broth
  • A bunch of fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, bay leaf) you may also use dried herbs instead of fresh
  • 3 cups stale bread, diced
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions:
First, you need to preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Pick off the cloves from the bulb and put them on aluminum foil. Then sprinkle some olive oil and roast the garlic for hour and a half. Next, take the garlic out and allow it to cool for a couple of minutes.



At the same time, heat some butter and two tablespoons of olive oil in a pot. Add the onions and cook for 10 minutes. When the garlic is ready, mash it with a fork and add it in the pot. Finally, add the chicken broth and the herbs.

Gradually reduce the heat to low, add the bread and cook it for 5 more minutes, or until the bread is softened. Blend the soup until smooth using an immersion blender or regular blender. Then, place the mixture on the heat and add some sour cream. Optionally, you can add salt and pepper according to your taste.

Prepare this soup as soon as you experience any symptom of cold or flu. You can freeze the leftover. You will the effects immediately.
